What we keep, and why

The book is free to read without an account. If you sign in, we keep only what makes the book work for you — and your notes are yours.

The short version: no passwords, no ad trackers, nothing sold, nothing shared unless you press share. You can download your notes or delete everything, anytime, in one click.

What's stored if you sign in

WhatWhy
Your email and first nameTo sign you in with a link, and to show your name if you share something.
Your exercise answers, highlights, M-Notes, plan steps, progress and milestonesSo your book follows you to any device. These are private to you.
Your Daily Run check-insTo show your own momentum record in M-Notes.
How far you've read, and when you last visitedTo understand which chapters people reach.
Where you found the book (for example LinkedIn, a conference, a friend's gift link)So Michael knows which conversations bring readers in.
Anything you post on Signal or in a chapter threadShown to other readers, because you chose to share it.
Notes and feedback you send MichaelSo he can read them and, if you left an email, reply.

We don't store passwords (there aren't any), IP addresses in your reader record, or browser fingerprints. Web-server logs are kept briefly for security and traffic counts, as every website's are.

Who can see it

Your answers, highlights, notes, plan and milestones: only you. The site's operator (Medrado Analytical Innovations, LLC) can technically access the server they're stored on, and only looks at reader data to keep the site running, fix a problem you report, or if the law requires it.

Popular highlights are shown as anonymous counts ("14 readers highlighted this") — never who.

What you post on Signal or in a chapter thread is visible to every reader, with your first name or as "Anonymous reader" if you choose.

Emails

You'll only get emails you asked for: sign-in links, replies to something you shared (on by default, one click to stop), reminders for steps you ticked "remind me" on, "it's done" when something you reported is fixed, and occasional notes from Michael — only if you ticked that box. Every email has a stop link.

Your controls

From your account in the book: download your answers, turn emails on or off, sign out, or delete your account and everything you wrote — answers, notes, highlights, plan, check-ins and posts are removed from the live site immediately. Copies in the nightly backups expire automatically within about two weeks.

Where it lives

On a server operated by Medrado Analytical Innovations, LLC in the United States. Email is delivered through a sending service; your data is never sold or used for advertising.
